Development Over the Years

EDRASIS came into being in the early 1950s, when Christodoulos Psallidas originally set up his technical works company in Lamia and was soon established throughout central Greece as “the expert in difficult projects”. His major achievements include the use of pre-stressed concrete in bridge construction (1958), the construction of one of the first pile foundations in Greece (1963), and the spot-on decision to specialise in geotechnical engineering.

Subsequently, the company’s development was marked by:
• the involvement of Constantinos Psallidas in the parent company and its renaming as EDRASIS – C. PSALLIDAS, in 1974
• its transformation into a societe anonyme, in 1981
• the transfer of its management to Constantinos Psallidas, in 1983
• its participation in the construction of the Athens Metro, in 1992
• its listing on the Athens Exchange, in 1994
• its engagement in activities abroad, in 1995
• its constant participation in all our country’s major construction projects (Athens Metro, Attiki Odos, Patras-Athens-Thesaloniki-Euzones Highway, Rio-Antirrio Bridge, etc.), over the years
